Hello everyone.

For those of you who have donated to this cause, we appreciate you so much and thank you for all your kindness and prayers. It is with a heavy heart to announce that Joy Abiog has passed away on September 3, 2024. She fought as much as she could and is now resting peacefully and is no longer suffering. We miss her very much. This gofundme is now to help Patrick, Joelle, and Mike (Joy’s brother) with funeral arrangements and more. Again, anything helps and is greatly appreciated.

To Patrick, Joelle, and Mikey: We are so sorry for this tremendous loss. You guys are in our thoughts and prayers, and we hope that you find comfort and peace in this difficult time

Hello!

This gofundme is for my very dear friends who are struggling with things right now and we want to help make things easier for them.

I met Patrick back in 2019 when I first started working as a new nurse at Paradise Valley Hospital. He was working as a nursing assistant and helped me out so much, always with a smile on his face! Through difficult shifts, it was always a relief to know he was there to help.

I then met his wife Joy and learned of how they fell in love and got married. When they began dating, Joy’s father was struggling with cancer and instantly Patrick was there to help him and support Joy. Unfortunately, Joy’s father passed away soon afterwards, with Joy left devastated, Patrick was there to comfort and support her. They soon got married and were soulmates for each other.

After getting to know them more, you could tell they were meant for each other. For years, they’ve been trying to have a child together. They decided to take a break from trying and pursue their own goals, one of which Patrick’s goal was to become a nurse.

While in nursing school 2020, they ended up receiving a sweet surprise, Joy became pregnant with their sweet bundle of joy, Joelle, named after both Patrick and Joy’s parents!

Still in nursing school juggling parenthood and the stresses of studying, Patrick and Joy received unfortunate news. Joy was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. They continued to work together to be good parents to Joelle, finish school, and fight the cancer. After long months of surgery, chemo, and radiation, Joy was finally given the news of being cancer free. They were finally able to get back to their normal lives, with Patrick graduating and starting his new job in September 2023 and Joy being able to feel like herself again, both of them being able to watch Joelle grow up.

However in August 2023, Joy was experiencing symptoms of a stroke. They discovered a new tumor located in her brain. It was small enough to be treated with radiation, however, it was taking a toll on Joy where she needed multiple procedures done weekly to relieve the side effects.

With everything going on, Patrick starting a new job, Joelle turning 3, and Joy fighting for her life, this family is more than deserving of some relief. Any help would be greatly appreciated ♥️
