It’s hard to believe that today marks the 20th anniversary of Patrick’s death. Although his physical presence has been long gone, his spiritual presence walks with us daily. All the goodness and love that he projected on so many people during his young life is still felt today. His bright, beautiful smile remains as crystal clear as his beautiful blue eyes. Yes, life has been bittersweet since he left us, but only because we miss his physical presence. For we know he is about his Fathers business living in eternal joy far beyond our earthly comprehension.
Today, marking the 20th anniversary of Patrick’s death, we are announcing the establishment of a “Memorial Prayer & Meditation Garden” to be located at Christ the King Church, located on Hart Road, Towson, Maryland. Plans for the garden should be finalized this month and completion targeted for the middle of June. The central feature of the garden will be a bronze sculpture of Jesus sitting and talking with children. Patrick’s love for being outdoors and nature, together with his artistic talent, lead him to major in Landscape Management and Design, He had hoped to spend his life designing and installing gardens and landscape features, One of Patrick’s other many gifts was decrement; “the ability to judge well”. Therefore, we feel a garden for prayer and meditation is a perfect way to honor his memory.
