Patrick Currin - Baseball Coach in Chapel Hill

If you have played baseball, or thought about playing baseball, in Chapel Hill over the last 25 years then you have probably met Patrick Currin. Over that time, he played at his alma mater Chapel Hill High, then in the big leagues, and he has been back in Chapel Hill for the last 15 years where he has run Tiger Baseball Camps at Chapel Hill High, coached the Orange County Crushers Travel Baseball program and given thousands of pitching and hitting lessons to your kids and mine. He has had a huge impact on so many kids and their families. He loves to see kids get better at baseball, but even more than that he loves to see kids achieve great things that they never thought they could accomplish. My kids are better baseball players and better humans because Patrick Currin was their coach and teacher.

Holly, Patrick's wife, shared the news this weekend that Patrick has been diagnosed with colorectal cancer and is going to be initiating a long chemotherapy treatment protocol to attack the cancer. It had not moved to other areas of his body, which is great news. There are many treatment and medical decisions ahead and the Currins have a great medical team.

I set this up to ask for your help to reduce the financial burden and stress of this news on the Currin family. I know that Patrick wants to continue to stay as involved as he can with our kids and he gets great joy from coaching and helping our kids. That said, there are many unknowns and we want to help reduce the financial stress on the Currin family associated with this challenge.
