Help Patrick and family get their lives back on track

My name is Patrick. I've been on disability since 2012. My wife and I have had a dream of full-time living in a fifth wheel since we started dating 7 years ago. In 2024, we took the first step toward that dream when we bought a used fifth wheel, a 2007 Montana with the 'M' missing on the back. It wasn't much, but it was our Ontana.

Unfortunately, shortly after, I broke my hip. The injury caused limited blood flow to both hips, further complicating things, leading to both hips needing replacement. Because I was unable to work, our income took a dive, and we depleted most of the savings we had.

In January of this year, we started looking for a truck. I was on a cane and hobbling, but we had a goal. After several months of looking, we finally found a truck that was affordable, newer, but most importantly, reliable.

On our first outing, we had an incident, a double blowout on the fifth wheel. The end result was two ruined wheels, a bent axle, and some damage to a compartment door. This depleted the rest of our savings. The insurance totaled it, and we had to get a salvage title. After 4 months of waiting for the insurance company to make a decision and waiting for custom parts, it was finally fixed.

Thankfully, I was still able to work; I do deliveries and Uber.

We started mapping our trip, which was supposed to start with a trip to visit our kids. Our departure date was October 30th.

On October 23rd, an elderly woman failed to yield to oncoming traffic while making a left turn. I was that oncoming traffic. Three cars were involved. No one was hurt, but now we are without a truck again. Our insurance payout fell just short of our loan balance, and to date, the insurance company of the at-fault driver has done zero to make us whole. Not even a rental car. Not only are we back to square one with our fifth wheel, which we just moved into, but we have no truck to pull it, no income, and are couch surfing... with our dog and cat.

A reliable truck with no down payment will be extremely difficult.

We're not charity people, but any help to get us onto our dream would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Our fur babbies thanks you too. They are puppers Riversong and Tank the master.
