On Sunday, November 4th, Patrick was running a half marathon in Malibu when he collapsed around mile 8.

He was rushed to Los Robles hospital in Thousand Oaks, CA, where he was unresponsive and in organ failure. They immediately put him under cooling therapy, a ventilator, and an induced coma. Rachel was told by the doctor that Patrick had a cardiac event and severe heatstroke. Rachel has been by his bedside the entire time and has been a mountain of strength!

On Friday afternoon Patrick finally started responding to commands and opening his eyes. He got the breathing tube out on Friday and started whispering. Of course his throat is very sore but he is doing his best to talk.

Patrick is doing better every day but is still in the ICU and it is going to be a hard recovery. He is still on dialysis but the doctor said his kidney and liver numbers are showing slight improvement.

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated so that Rachel can concentrate on helping Patrick get well. Thank you for all of your prayers at this time.
