Patricia(Stawiarz)Hafford: Support Her Family-Memorial costs

Update: Thank you everyone for your generosity and kindness during this time. There are not words enough to thank you for all of your support. We appreciate every single kind word and donation we have received. We were only able to raise enough to cover cremation costs for Mom, so we will need to reconvene on a celebration of life at a later time. I am so sorry for anyone who wanted to be able to celebrate her with us. Hopefully we can put something together sooner rather than later.

It’s with a heavy heart that I sit here and ask for help with finances for my mother’s memorial and to help my father, who is rightfully devastated, with costs associated with medical debt and housing (as he could not work while my mother was sick and hospitalized).

We always had a joke in our family that everyone knew my mother. Anywhere we would go, she would find someone who would shout her name, “PATTI,” across a store, a parking lot, a restaurant. Even a few times vacationing, hours from home, everyone knew my mother.

So now I am reaching out to all whose lives she touched to try and help her children and spouse with all of these upsetting and unexpected costs. Patti would give anyone the shirt off her back if they needed it, so it’s safe to say she had nothing saved or planned for this kind of thing. She had always said when she passed, she wanted a celebration of life so that everyone she loved could come together and share stories about her while enjoying good food, one last time. We are praying that we can gather the funds to honor this wish for her.
