Patricia's Unfair Eviction
Hey everyone, my grandmother Patrica is 80 years old and has been renting and living in the same house for over 20 years. Today, we found out that the landlord for the home is evicting her and my uncle (her son) to "live in the property themselves" - for reference, this entire town has been facing some extreme gentrification: multiple "luxury" apartment buildings have popped up within the past year alone as well as complete remodeling being done across the entirety of Main Street. It is very unlikely that this landlord - someone who has actively ignored requests for repairs and inspections throughout the entirety of their time at this property - plans to live in the unit themselves. Patricia still works a full-time job and is unable to retire due to being the primary breadwinner of her household, yet she was given until November 30th to move out completely - right after Thanksgiving and before Christmas - with zero help or compensation being provided despite being a loyal resident since the early 2000s.
Any contribution to this fund would be greatly appreciated - removing her from her home and forcing a completely life-changing event at her age is unfair and immoral.
