Let me tell you a little bit about my Godsister/BFF Patricia McKnight.... Patricia is a mother of 3 beautiful kids, Gabrielle, KJ & Mega. Patricia runs her daycare where she teaches and showers love to all the littles around her as well as runs her non-profit, Purpose to feed where she would give hot plates once a month to as many people in need as she could. She re-met her fiance, MariJayne Sherman, 3 years ago (another story for another time ;)) and in the past 3 years, they have been on this amazing journey, building their new lives together. They are recently engaged, they purchased their first home together, added their newest addition to their family by adopting Mega and began planning a wedding all within these past 3 years. They were in such a happy place in their lives, that with Patricia's encourgement, Marijayne quit her long term job at the post office to pursue her dream of custom design work. Patricia and Marijayne have been at the highlight of their lives and honestly, I've never seen either of them happier. The love and happiness that her and her fiance have been exuding has been so infectious to all those around them.

As we all know, life can knock us on our ass, it can happen to anyone, at any time, which brings us here. Patricia was recently diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer. Most of this, you all already know. What you all don't know is that Patricia has been fighting off these tumors for quite some time. About two years ago, she had to have surgery to remove multiple benign tumors from all over her body. One year later, she had a scan done and once again had to have tumors removed from her lower back. Fast forward to now, and the tumor in her back has grown back, but this time, it is cancerous. All of Patricia's medical expense has been out of pocket because her and her fiance are self-employed.

This particular form of bone cancer is very dangerous. Because it sits at her lower spine threatening her existence daily. If it grows too rapidly and enters her spine, she runs the risk of the doctors not being able to remove it. Chemotherapy is not an option because of it's location. Her only option is immediate surgery. The surgery up-front cost is $12k but she will still owe the remaining funds. The best outcome is that God guides these doctors and they remove the entire tumor with no chance of spreading but Patricia will still need medical after care. Radiation, medication, PET scans, follow up, follow up and follow up.

Patricia and Jayne have been keeping all of this burden to themselves and keeping a smile on thier faces for quite some time. They have been carring this load in silence and this burden has now become too much to carry on thier own. We are setting a goal of $30k to get her started at giving her the best chance to fight this awful disease, for her, for her children and for her fiance. Patricia has been there for so many and now it is our turn to return the love. We know that everyone has lives to live and families to feed so any donation, no matter the amount, is greatly appreciated and cherished. Thank you all ♥
