My name is Patricia and I live in Dallas/Ft. Worth Texas but grew up in New Jersey, I have a heart as big as Texas and the tough fighter attitude of a Jersey girl. I met the love of my life Scott 4 years ago and we married a year and a half ago. I am the very proud aunt to my nephew Branden, whom I raised since the age of 8 when we lost my sister, his mother to cancer in 2007. He is now in his second year at Trinity University and such a kind, smart wonderful person. My husband Scott is like the father Branden never had and they are best friends. Scott fit right into our fun crazy household and never hesitated to step up and form a tight bond with my nephew.
Recently I found out I have pancreatic cancer and have completed my first round of chemo. I am a fighter and determined to do whatever it takes to continue to be around to watch my nephew graduate and live in the loving arms of my husband. Because of the location of my tumor they are currently unable to remove but hope chemo will shrink it and it can be removed.
Our family was truly blindsided with the news of all of this, as you can only imagine. I am in a position I’ve never dreamed I would be in my life. We are in need of financial assistance as we together work to battle this fight. We are raising funds to help with medical expenses and co-pays, transportation costs, and assistance for my nephew while he continues his studies.
When I took over the responsibility of raising my nephew I was determined to give him the best most stable environment given the fact he was growing up without his mom (his father was never involved or supported him). My home was always filled with love and laughter and a place where his friends always felt at home. They still call me Aunt Pat and we are always surprised by visits when his friends are home from college.
I was fortunate with career as an Instructional Designer. This allowed me to work on various contracts and earn enough to keep him in his same school district surrounded by childhood friends and an excellent school district. But with this came with a downside, which are benefits most permanent employees enjoy. Two weeks prior to having severe stomach pain that sent me to the hospital my contract ended and I was left without any income except what my loving husband Scott earns.
Please help by donating to Patricia’s GoFundMe Account and keep me and my family in your prayers.
Thank you so much for your support! We will update this site as my battle continues.
