Patricia was beloved by many. To those she loved, she was a touchpoint. She wanted to know your story, and she wanted to help you succeed. Her legacy is one of curiosity, connection, and love.
Pat, like us all, was also complicated. As anyone who had been to her home knows, she was a hoarder. This means that while mourning her loss, her family must also take on the work of decontaminating and clearing out the house.
In her attempt to support her family in death, Pat had a life insurance policy. This was meant to provide funds for cremation and to address the costs of the house, recognizing the financial and emotional burden it would be to her family. Unfortunately, the insurance company is denying the claim, leaving the family with no funds.
We are starting this fund so that we can honor Patricia, both in her memorial service and in cleaning the home she had lived in for so many years and preparing it for sale. We estimate the cost to be approximately $10,000.
Costs we are hoping to cover:
- Cremation and memorial service
- U-Haul
- Junk removal
- Outstanding bills
- Relocation of her son Marty
The family would also appreciate anyone with experience with life insurance policies who may be able to help navigate the appeal process.
Any amount, great or small, will help us reach our goal.
With sincere gratitude,
