Patricia “Patty” Rutkowski of Ziggy's of Salem fame needs our help. On the morning of Wednesday, November 13, Patty went to the ER due to excruciating abominable pain. Initially, she was found to have an enlarged abdominal lump and subsequent testing revealed that she had a hernia had burst through tissue causing bowel obstructions. She was transported by ambulance from Beverly Hospital to Lahey Burlington for high-risk surgery.
Thus far, she has had two surgeries, spent 2 days in ICU under sedation, 3 days in PCU (progressive care unit). She is currently in a regular hospital room awaiting transfer to a rehab or home care with nursing assistance. Patty's care was focused on saving her life by addressing the abdominal obstructions. She still needs physical therapy and another surgery to repair her hernia.
Patty will be unable to work at Ziggy's or Metro Bowl for several weeks (at least through Christmas). She is ineligible for FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act). With no income, insufficient health insurance, and potential for home nursing care, Patty will need our help to pay her medical bills, which will be significant. It is important to note that this GoFundMe is strictly to help Patty cover these expenses.
Those of us who know Patty, know that she puts others first always. In her list of priorities, she puts herself dead last, if at all.
Can we show up for her?
Please donate to Patricia Rutkowski’s GoFundMe.
