My name is Phillip De Avila-Molina from Altadena, CA, and I, along with many others have had our homes and lives devastated by the Eaton Fire. While everyone displaced needs your support right now, I want to highlight a very close friend of mine who isn’t on social media and doesn’t have access to as large a group of people as a lot of us do. Patricia Stubblefield, a mentor and friend to myself and the ranch (where I live and work) for over 10 years, living just a few blocks away, has lost everything she owned. She had hundreds of of books, minerals, beautiful art, tools, a beautiful garden, and priceless family heirlooms lost after being the last remaining member of her immediate family. She lives alone, and has had mobility problems for the last couple years. But she is probably the most lively, the most patient, generous, accepting, and wisest person I’ve ever known and definitely the least deserving of losing everything. I have been asking of the folks who want to help out the fire victims to only give if it is convenient for them, but for Patricia, I would make an exception. If possible, I’d like to ask that you maybe forgo those new shoes you were planning on buying, or maybe stay home on a Friday or Saturday night, postpone that vacation with your buddies, or even if you were about to donate to me, I ask instead you dig deep and send her some support in this time of need. She doesn’t know I’m writing this about her and I hope she doesn’t take offense but I really care about her and I just wanted to highlight her. Oh, almost forgot! I imagine she would spend most of the donations to replace clothes and buy food and other necessities. Thank you for any help you can provide!
