Hi, my name is Maria and I’m fundraising for my grandmother - most everyone knows her as Pat. She is currently on hospice care after being diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. She beat her previous battle with stage 3C colon cancer 9 years ago and was ready to fight again. While she did the best she could, my grandma suffered - becoming very tired, weak, and in pain. She and the family have decided to stop all procedures so she may finally be at peace and return to her heavenly home. We’ve been told she has about a week left at this point.
My grandma is and has always been the most selfless, loving, and passionate person I know. She brightened every room she entered and brought joy to every person she met. She is loved by many and will be missed beyond measure. The world will be just a little dimmer without her.
As a child, she attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Tampa from kindergarten until graduation. She remained devoted to her Catholic faith for all of her 76 years: she was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church for 70 years and Nativity Catholic Church for 5 years. While at Nativity, she consistently volunteered with Meals on Wheels to prepare food for homebound individuals, and she assisted with the church’s food pantry on a regular basis. She enjoyed helping others and lending her time to those in need.
She will be survived by her husband Robert of 55 years, 3 daughters, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
This has happened somewhat suddenly and our family was not quite prepared for this outcome. The funds raised for my grandma will be used for her funeral, cremation, and burial costs. It will also help cover medical bills she’s acquired during her battle.
Thank you to everyone who prayed and sent strength her way. Know she is so loved and surrounded by family in these last days. Thank you in advance to anyone who donates or helps spread this information.
With love and fish belly buttons,
Maria
