Patricia Allen’s Pulmonary Valve Transplant
Donation protected
My beautiful sister, Patricia Allen, was born with a rare form of cyanotic congenital heart disease called Tetralogy of Fallot which consists of a combination of four different heart defects. She received her first open heart surgery only a few months into her life and has since lived with many physical struggles. She underwent her initial pulmonary valve transplant in 2013 through a successful open heart surgery and was able to live a relatively normal life for the past 10 years with additional non invasive procedures.
On February 24th 2023, Pattie is undergoing her fourth heart surgery at age 22. The amazing Cardiology team at Boston Children’s Hospital will be performing her valve replacement surgery. As her condition worsened over the last 9 months, her medical team has attempted a laparoscopic heart procedure which unfortunately failed due to complications. Working with her doctors to reschedule her procedure to fit her rare medical needs has been extremely draining on Pattie and our family both emotionally and financially so I am raising money to support her medical expenses. Pattie remains a brave force throughout these challenging circumstances but in the face of extended scheduling and recovery periods, she is unable to do the things she loves. During her lengthy recovery period, she will be unable to work and currently struggles to regulate her energy levels, even in her passions of art and music.
I have set an updated fundraising goal of $20,000 to assist in covering medical expenses and recovery costs. We are extremely appreciative of any donations or prayers as Pattie undergoes her operation.
