Patrica Gammons Peel

As Many of you know Patricia, was diagnosed with small cell agressive lung cancer in May of 2020. She has continued to fight for almost a year, But unfortunatly two weeks ago she was admited to the hospital because she was having trouble breathing, and complaining of back pain.

She was informed that she had a infecton in her blood and that the cancer had spred throughout her entire spine and right under her brain. CHI Saint lukes Recomended that we send her to CHI Baylor in Huston. After waiting several days, We found out that CHI Baylor had denied her a bed, Because of how Aggresive the cancer is. The family Made the hard choice to put her in hospice and to bring her home to spend time with the family, with what time we had left with her. She was transfered to the hospice floor at CHI Saint Lukes in Lufkin. We were told that she would be able to come home as soon, as they could get her medication right and get her off of the IV medicine. Unfortunatly Her health is declining to fast and they cant get her off of the IV to bring her home, Because She can not take pills and the other topical medications are not strong enough to keep confortable. As her Health declines we are starting to get things together for her.

Budgets are tight right now, and family will be coming down. She had some life insurance, Just not enough to cover all of the expenses.
