Hi, my name is Jimmy. I am raising funds for my lifelong friend, the love of my life, my wife, Stephany. Briefly stated, she needs a patient lift to enable her to safely move from bed to her wheelchair, to the bathroom and to the car.

For years now, we have lifted her manually... that is to say, using the bear-hug method. It worked fine for a long time, but now we are both getting a little older. I no longer have the strength and confidence I used to, and I fear that I may drop her. A simple slip or loss of grip and she could fall. She has advanced Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and a fall could be catastrophic.

Our insurance does not cover this type of Durable Medical Equipment, so it's up to me to find the funds to cover the lift and specialized mounting hardware. Then we will need to pay a licensed specialist to install each piece. The total for everything is estimated at $15,000.

It is not a good feeling to need the financial help of friends and family. But without help, we will not meet this need. So. I'm swallowing my pride. I will always do what I must to get what she needs.
