From Mark Boobbyer: Patience Matande from Zimbabwe was a pupil at Tiger Kloof when I was the Director. She had no family to support her and she was given a bursary to pay for her last two years when the money ran out. After university, she found herself unable to study further and fulfil her desire to become a teacher, so Cathy and I have been sponsoring her university studies. After three years she has been doing so well and has just entered her final year, but has now been diagnosed with suspected thyroid cancer, which is a shattering blow. The thyroid needs to be removed as fast as possible and, with that operation, she should be able to live a normal life, provided she has the drugs to take. The cost of the operation and after treatment is £1800, an astronomical sum in Zimbabwe, and we would be hugely grateful for your support in raising this money.
