Pat Coito Sr. ~ Medical Fund
Donation protected

Our dad, grandpa & great-grandpa, Pat Coito Sr. aka Uncle Pat has been diagnosed with Uveal Melanoma in his right eye. We have been told by the doctors that due to the size & rare mushroom shape of the melanoma, treatment will more than likely require the removal of his right eye. There are no doctors here in Hawai'i that treats this type of cancer, so he will be traveling to the mainland for treatment.
On December 9, 2015 dad flew up to Washington State and will be staying with his daughter Anna, while he undergoes all treatment for his cancer. On January 8, 2016 he underwent surgery for the removal of his right eye at the Casey Eye Institute in Portland, OR. In March 2016 he will receive a custom prosthetic eye and will then be able to return back to Hawai'i
Dad is the owner of Ohana Woods, a business he started over 30yrs ago. His beautiful creations can be found in many art galleries throughout Hawai'i Island. He's love for woodworking will be put on hold for now, but he assures all of us that he will return to his shop!
Dad is a tough guy with a heart of gold. His spirits are high, he told us "I goin' be ok. I still goin' have one eye for watch my wife... And look at my 11 grandchildren & 5 great-grandchildren... And do my woodwork!"
We all know that he is nervously anxious to get his treatment over with so he can return to his wood shop and get back to "work" as mom put it, creating his beautiful bowls and other woodwork.
We truly appreciate you keeping our Ohana in your thoughts and prayers. Any monetary donations that you can assist with would be greatly appreciated.
Please feel free to leave your positive comments & words of encouragement here or on his Facebook page.
