Hi, My name is Devon Goldberg. I grew up in Andover Massachusetts with a close knit family. I am now a student at the University of Massachusetts pursuing a degree in Psychology and Public Health. Last night, my grandparent's escaped a fire in their
brand new house in Florida. They bought their dream home friday (November 6th)! It was close to their family down there and affordable. They stayed there Saturday night and woke to their neighbors banging on the doors, saying that their house caught on fire. I'm extremely grateful that they are alive, but during this thanksgiving season, I can't help but sympathize for them. They spent their life savings to buy this house. The moved out of their house of 29 years in Haverhill. They loved their little house on the Merrimack river. Our whole family has endless memories in that house. They never got the chance to insure their new home considering it burned down the first day they lived in it. The money would be put towards legal fees, temporary shelter, clean up, replacement of their belongings and reconstruction. This will be an ongoing struggle for them, but help as soon as possible would be ideal.  My grandparents are the most selfless people I know. They have helped everyone in our family at some point, with nothing given to them but a thank you.  They grew up modestly in middle class and have been the back bone for our family. This isn't like me to make a gofundme, but all three of their daughters are putting multiple kids through college, and I know that it's not going to be easy for them. This will mean the world to me if people could share and donate, and if you knew Pat and Yogi, you'd know that these are people that deserve to be taken care of for once.
