Hi everyone, I am fundraising for my amazing brother who has had his world turned upside down over the last 15 months. This sad story began with what was supposed to be a straightforward knee replacement surgery back in January of 2023 on his right knee. He had his left knee scheduled to be done 3 months later in March. Unfortunately, Pat hadn't fully recovered from the first surgery but his doctor insisted he was cleared to have the second surgery which was done in April after dealing with a COVID bout and some infection issues. Pat then was in for a long recovery and long rehab stays. He had infections on both knees and required several more surgeries to repair his knees and alleviate infections over the course of 2023. Last week all the infections in Pat's left leg had become septic and on Wednesday Doctors had to amputate his left leg to prevent a spread into the rest of his body. Pat has had 8 surgeries in the last 12 months and the bills are mounting. Pat lives in a 2 story home and will need extensive construction to reconfigure his home for first floor sleeping / living arrangements upon his arrival both inside and outside. Pat and his wife Julie have been through hell and back and their work has just begun for this new handicap lifestyle.
