Pat Mac Thanks You
Donation protected
Patrick's battle with cancer began many years ago at the age of 13. Even though 5 years of chemotherapy and radiation treatments saved his life, he is now suffering from its devastating effects.
Over the past 5 years, Patrick's quality of life has declined and he has required multiple long term hospital stays. Each time Patrick has been in the hospital, his recovery time takes longer and longer making it nearly impossible for him to get into work. He has been fortunate that his CBP ( Customs and Border Protection) family has been able to donate some leave time for him. He had been working on processing disability and retirement, but until those are approved, he is going on his third month of being on leave without pay. Thus, his uncovered medical bills and living expenses are pulling up.
His team of doctors at Mass General are amazing, but they are not able to perform a heart and lung transplant due to the extensive radiation and chemotherapy damage as they had hoped. Instead, they are hoping to connect an LVAD (Ventricular Assist Device) to improve Patrick's quality of life. To do this procedure, it's projected Patrick will be in the hospital and rehabilitation for several months.
To help with day to day expenses, mounting medical bills, and costs that are related to his hospitalization and care (parking, has, hotel care for spouse, etc.) We are going to raise $20,000.
If you know anyone who knows Patrick and his family and is not on social media, please pass along this request to them. Patrick and Dana thank you for your well wishes and are very appreciative of your support.
