My friend, Pat Knight, is fighting breast cancer for the second time since 2016.  Powerful chemotherapy treatments caused her to be diagnosed with congestive heart failure earlier this year.  In fact, Pat was hospitalized in April after she actually “flatlined’ in the emergency room!

Due to her illness, Pat has had to put her catering business on hold. In addition, during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic, her husband is on furlough from his job.  Compounding all of Pat’s medical challenges are the financial challenges of meeting the family’s daily living expenses.

Pat and I have been friends since 2013.  I know her, her husband, and two children to be honest and hard-working.  While the past several years have been very difficult, Pat and her husband remain positive and optimistic. They have never asked anyone for help, so I’m doing it for them. 

Chemo may have weakened Pat’s heart, but she is still heart-strong in her determination to persevere and master this struggle, despite circumstances that seem stacked against her.
