In May 2015 my brother in law, Pat was diagnosed with T-cell Lymphoma. At that time, he began his 8 months of Chemotherapy, then a Stem Cell Transplant at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America facility in Philadelphia. In 2016, he began his road to remission and was fully on track with all good reports, scans, etc. And then the summer of 2018, the news came that his cancer returned.
Over the course of the last year, Pat has undergone more extensive chemo under the direction of his new doctors at Sloan Kettering in NYC. The first week of August Pat will have one more round of chemo and then he will undergo another Stem Cell Transplant from an unknown donor that is a 100% match. Once the transplant is complete and Pat is stable him and my sister, Michelle will need to stay in New York City for at least a month depending on how his body responds to the transplant, at their own expense. Our family started this fundraiser to help offset the cost of their stay, which we estimate to be at least $6,000.
Now, we all know that Pat is a dedicated family man, he was always a very hard worker and is also a very proud person, who has never ever asked for help with anything in life. Therefore, myself and our family have decided to take matters into our own hands and do this for them. These high school sweet hearts deserve to be stress and worry free while going through this difficult time of making sure Pat comes out a SURVIVOR!
