Hello from Pat's family. We have reached out to our community during a difficult time.

Pat is a loving husband, father, and brother, and a pillar of our community. He is the kind of person who has shown up, quietly and consistently, for the people around him. Pat has been there for others, and now you, our community, have been there for him – thank you.

Just before Christmas, Pat was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive cancer in his abdomen - a type of retroperitoneal sarcoma. The disease progressed rapidly, changing everything for his family in a matter of weeks.

Through our Go Fund Me Campaign, Pat has been generously supported in managing the cost of his immunotherapy. His therapy has helped extended Pat’s life, and allowed him quality time with his family and community. The treatment, funded by you, our community, helped stabilize the cancer for several months and has given Pat valued quality time with his family. The tumour has begun growing again, and there is no further active therapy available for it.

Pat is now in St. Paul’s Hospital receiving excellent and compassionate care. There is hope that he may be able to return home with supports from the North Vancouver Palliative Care service.

The treatments have been physically demanding, but Pat has faced each day with strength, grace, and determination. He continues to do so with the ending of his active therapy, and his focus remains where it has always been, on his family, and on making the most of the time he has.

Your support has gone directly toward ensuring Pat could receive the life-extending treatment he needed. Every contribution helped ease the financial strain and allows Pat and his family to focus on what truly matters, time together.
