On December 1, 2020, Pat Degood, age 57, lost his battle with Covid19. In that same moment, Robin Roberts Orahood Degood lost her husband of 24 years, her best friend, her provider, her safe place, her protector, her hero, her shoulder to lean on, her rock, her everything.
As if that wasn’t devastating enough, Robin also lost the only source of income in their household.
Due to Robin’s health issues, Pat was the only source of income they had, yet her debt will now increase substantially because of the medical bills from Pat’s Thirteen day stay in ICU.
She will lose her health insurance that was through Pat’s employer.
In addition to the medical bills looming over her, Robin now has to find a way to pay funeral/burial costs, the mortgage payment, mortgage insurance, auto insurance, state and local property taxes, the costs of running a household, monthly utilities, her personal healthcare/medication expenses (which are many due to her health issues), etc.
Our goal is to raise enough money through this Go Fund Me to satisfy the medical bills and take this particular burden off of Robin’s shoulders.
Before Pat was even buried, she received a bill from the hospital for her daughter, who was in the ER for covid the day after Pat was taken there by ambulance himself. Those bills & calls from medical providers won’t stop & will only increase in the next few months.
