Pat Butler (Butsie)

In August 2019, our good friend, Pat Butler was diagnosed with colon cancer. After diagnosis, Pat began additional testing at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. After a liver biopsy, PET and CT scans it was determined Pat has metastatic colorectal cancer (stage 4 colon cancer). Although the primary tumor is in his colon, the cancer has spread to his lymph nodes, liver and lungs.

Pat is a dedicated father, brother, husband and friend.  He has donated endless hours to the Lakeville Hockey Association on both the girls and boys programs.  His sense of humor brings laughter to a group of 1 or a group of many.  He is a great, loyal friend. 
 
Pat began chemotherapy shortly after diagnosis and to date has gone through eight rounds of treatment. There has been progress and setbacks of the chemotherapy treatment. An emotional rollercoaster for him and the family. After months of chemo and most recently consulting with surgeons Pat will endure two majors surgeries at one time; a liver and colon resection on February 7.  Part one of the surgery: the right side of his liver and gall bladder will be resected and then part two: the cancerous area of his colon will be resected.

Pat will be recovering at home which will not allow him to work or limit his schedule.  Susan will be focusing on his recovery.  His quality of life has been diminished. His prognosis is undetermined at this time. He will need to wait several weeks post-op to resume chemo again to try to tackle the remaining cancer in his lymph nodes and lungs.

As we enter 2020 - let's make it a goal to alleviate some stress for the family.  Deductibles are renewing, prescription costs, adjustments for the home, expenses associated with travel/lodging to and from the hospital, assistance for the kids and any other costs associated with the surgery and recovery period.  

The Butler Family have been great friends to many.  It is our time to support that friendship.  Respect, Care and Love.
