My name is Michael Sabo and I’m seeking donations to support my brother Patrick and his fiancé Jess. Pat and Jess are both good, hardworking individuals who work as managers for a Healthcare Environmental Services company. They have been together for a number of years and recently became engaged to be married.

A short time ago, Patrick was hospitalized with an acute attack of pancreatitis, which led to the discovery of a growth on his pancreas. He subsequently underwent an extremely aggressive surgery (Whipple Procedure) in which half of his pancreas, half of his stomach, and his gall bladder were removed. We were relieved when biopsy results showed the tumor to be non-malignant. As you can imagine, Pat’s recovery from this surgery will be long and arduous. Many patients struggle with long-term, life-altering medical issues following this procedure. Thankfully, despite a troubling post-surgical infection, his recovery has progressed well, and he was discharged from the hospital yesterday. Patrick is anticipating returning to work as soon as his recovery allows.

Meanwhile, Jess has been juggling supporting Patrick through his medical journey, traveling back and forth to the hospital each day while also working her full-time job. Yesterday, she was unexpectedly admitted to the hospital as a result of a worsening infection in her foot, which is related to diabetes. The infection was determined to be osteomyelitis and has not responded positively to IV antibiotics. To prevent further spread of the infection, she will undergo a below-the-knee amputation tomorrow.

The road ahead for Pat and Jess is filled with uncertainties and challenges. They will need support from a multitude of sources. At this time, I’m asking for financial support to help to ease their financial burden and assist with medical expenses, income replacement, and other yet-to-be-determined expenses.
