Pat Brooks and Gaynor Morgan Memorial Bench

We had an idea to provide a lasting memorial for both Pat and Gaynor and we struck on the idea of a commemorative bench. For those of you who may have known only one of them, Pat and Gaynor were brother and sister-in-law, who passed away within 6 months of each other in late 2014 and the Spring of 2015.
It was an easy decision as to where to put the bench - Cwmdu, a small campsite in the heart of Wales' Black Mountains, a place loved by them and their families, and where they spent many happy holidays over many years.
I have discussed the matter with Martin, Helen and Sarah at Cwmdu, who are very enthusiastic and supportive. We have a hardwood bench in mind that Webbs in Crickhowell will supply, and we shall put a plaque on it. Cwmdu will then arrange for its installation on a permanent purpose-built base on or near "the Shelf" at the top of the field with fantastic views over the valley and the Black Mountains beyond.
The projected cost of the whole project will be in the region of £1200- £1500. Any surplus will be divided between Sue Ryder and Marie Curie, the two hospices that looked after Pat and Gaynor so brilliantly.
I shall get the ball rolling with ordering the bench and liaising with Cwmdu. Ideally, it would be great to have it all in place by Easter 2019, when as a family we shall next be there.
Several people have expressed a wish to contribute to this lasting memorial. In order to facilitate this, please feel free to share this link with anyone who would like to donate.
