Hi, my name is Matt Sharpe.  I’m a pastor in Muskegon, MI, and I am asking for your help.  
While many of you know me, here’s a little bit of background for those who don’t know me.  In addition to being a pastor for 18 years, I have also worked in private security.  

As part of my work in security, I've been asked to travel to Washington D. C. to help with National Day of Prayer Events. 

I am asking for your help to raise the cost of my airfare, hotel, and expenses.  In case you are wondering, here are two reasons why I am asking for your help.

First, as a pastor, I am teaching others to use their talents and abilities to serve Jesus.  This is an opportunity for me to practice what I preach (which all pastors should do). 

Second, by raising my own support I can model the Apostle Paul who did not want to be a burden to the ministries he was serving (1 Cor. 9:13-15), I don't want to burden another ministry that is striving to build God's Kingdom. 

So I am asking for your financial support for those reasons. Together, we have the chance to help bring the power of prayer into the heart of our nation’s capital.  Just so you know, The funds will be used to cover airfare, ground travel, hotel (which is insanely expensive in D.C.) and other expenses for the trip.
