Rev. Chul Jik Timothy Kim

Rev. Timothy Kim died of COVID-19 complications. About a month ago, Rev. Kim and his family got word that there was an outbreak of COVID-19 in a Los Angeles based Nursing Home where his mother-in-law was staying. They were advised by staff to take her home, not knowing she was already infected with coronavirus. After she was taken to his Los Angeles apartment, she died two days later from coronavirus, after infecting the whole family in their apartment. Rev. Kim lived with his wife Alice & two children, daughter, Hannah age 21 and son, Joseph age 17. One week later Rev. Kim had trouble breathing and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and was intubated, put on a ventilator at Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles. His wife Alice was later rushed to the Hospital as well. The children are in a better state with their symptoms being difficulty breathing and loss of smell & taste. The medical team prescribed Rev. Kim the anticoagulant Heparin to prevent blood clots while on the ventilator in the ICU; however, Heparin makes the blood thinner and makes the user more susceptible to stroke. Rev. Kim’s suffered a hemorrhagic stroke, and was pronounced became brain dead. Two days after his stroke, Rev. Kim’s heart stopped and he went to be with the Lord. Alice Kim is in the ICU on oxygen and is going through Plasma exchange treatment, and is now showing signs of improvement. Rev. Kim is survived by his wife Alice, daughter Hannah, and son Joseph. Rev. Kim was an Doctor of Eastern Medicine, Acupuncturist & Herbologist, and English Ministry Pastor at Los Angeles Christian Church in La Crescenta, CA. His wife Alice is a homemaker, daughter Hannah has one more semester at CSULA majoring in Information Systems & Graphic Design. His son Joseph is a gifted High School student who hopes to someday go to Medical School and become a Medical Doctor.
