On Wednesday, September 9th, Pastor Romeo was admitted to the hospital due to kidney failure that was affecting, not only his kidneys, but also his lungs and heart. As a result, it was necessary to have a catheter inserted in order to immediately begin to dialysis. Unfortunately, during the procedure, one of his lungs was punctured and as a result, collapsed. Also, his foot, which was recovering from previous surgeries, was affected as well.
Thankfully, he is currently conscious and in good spirits.
Due to his age and pre-existing conditions, we have been unable to acquire medical insurance for him in the last few years. We have incurred a lot of expenses, and still have a long road to recovery ahead. We are asking for your collaboration, as we are needing to cover the costs of these immediate hospitalization bills and medical care.
Meanwhile, doctors have agreed that it is necessary to continue medical care and treatment from home. Being that he is a kidney patient, his immune system is compromised. Therefore, staying at the hospital puts him at risk, due to certain bacteria found within hospitals.
It is now necessary to hire a full-time nurse who can assist him 24 hours a day, in addition to a medical specialist who will need to observe him and perform the dialysis 3 to 4 times a week, at home. We will wait until he is stable, before also continuing his foot treatment (being that two of his toes have dry necrosis), as well as all other care that he needs; including a strict diet, assistance in mobilization, etc.
We would greatly appreciate your support through financial contributions and prayer, believing with us for a miraculous recovery, as we walk accompany him through this process. We know full well that the Lord bless you overabundantly.
