Robert Scott was performing in Atlantic City as the opening act for headliners. One evening he was leaving a convenience store when a man grabbed him from behind and pointed a gun to his head. Robert prayed to God that if he saved him he would dedicate his life to the Lord. With that the man lowered the gun and shot Robert in the leg. From that moment on Robert has dedicated his life to spreading God's word.
I met Robert in 1993 when he came to work for me. During the next 5 years he studied to become a Baptist Minister. He would always look for ways to bring people to Christ. He would minister to the homeless on the streets and sing Christmas carols while making a delivery to The Jewish Federation of Pittsburgh. After his ordination he received a call to become a Paster in Lancaster, PA.
Robert and I have remained in touch over the last 25 years. We always seem to know when one of us needs a prayer or word of encouragement. We like to say that, "We are brothers from a different mother". He has been my entire family's spiritual advisor and officiated at my daughters wedding.
There is no one that walks the talk of dedication and faith like Robert.
Robert's wife, Michelle, recently lost her job due to medical issues she is having. Robert has needed to leave his position at Main Line Christian Assembly a CNMP Church to care for Michelle during this illness. As they do not have medical insurance they have had to pay for any doctors appointments themselves.
Robert was recently served with pre-forclosure notice on their home as they have not been able to make the payments. I believe the mortgage balance is $165,000. In addition they owe $3,000 in a car loan and assorted debt. All Robert wants to do is spread God's word! If he can be relieved of this debt I am sure he will spread that word to the world.
The money raised will go directly to the mortgage and car loan. Any additional funds will go to Michelle's medical care so they can figure out what is happening.
I love Robert and have committed to God that I will do everything I can to help this good and faithful servent.
