Ever have something happen so fast your head is spinning, and you’re trying to figure out how you got here?

Pastor Jim Coy was preaching at Calvary Chapel Murphy Sunday Morning, December 12th, 2021, and by Thursday, the 16th, we (his kids) received a call that “Dad can’t breathe, he’s not doing well and needs you all to come right away”. Fast forward, he was admitted to the hospital with double pneumonia, and after it was treated, they discovered that his Pulmonary Fibrosis (which had been dormant) had rapidly taken over. They said there’s was nothing that could be done, and he was released home Christmas day into hospice care. After he was home, it seemed like he may be improving, and we hoped that this was the miracle we were praying for. This week he started getting worse again and Saturday morning, Jan 22nd. He passed away.

Being a Calvary Chapel Pastor for the last 40yrs. He’s one of the “old school” Pastors sent out by the late Pastor Chuck Smith. He has been serving others his whole adult life. We’ve received countless texts, phone calls, Facebook messages, etc., from people over the last month sharing love, words of encouragement, and stories of how their lives wouldn’t have been the same without him. We read them to him; it was such a blessing during a very difficult time. To hear, while he was alive, the impact that was made was incredible! In addition to the prayers, texts, and phone calls, we’ve also been asked if there’s a way to give financially. That’s why we set up this page. If you would like to help financially, here’s where to do it. The money will go to help pay bills, medical and otherwise. To help my Mom through this unexpected transition and transitions to come as well as funeral expenses.

The body of Christ has been incredible, and it has made such a difference. To be absent from the body is to be present from the Lord. He is in Heaven and at peace. He didn’t expect it to be this way, but he wanted everyone that reads this to meet him in Heaven. He admonished us our whole lives that, no matter what, we meet him there, and he prayed the same for you.
