Pastor Jeff's Cancer Battle

February 6th Update: As Cindy said "Tonight we said goodbye for awhile as Jeff said hello to Jesus face to face." After fighting his T-cell Lymphoma for six grueling months, Jeff passed away beside Matt and Cindy.

Jeff's family and community are heart broken that he was taken from us too soon. Matt and Cindy didn't imagine being without him this quickly and are grateful for whatever you can contribute as they navigate these heavy and challenging days, weeks, and months.

Last month, our beloved friend Pastor Jeff received the life-changing news of being diagnosed with a rare form of T-cell Lymphoma. While the cancer is aggressive, we are grateful that it was caught early. His doctors are hopeful, with a treatment plan aimed at full remission and a cure. Jeff has already begun an intense journey of chemotherapy, with radiation soon to follow.

Before this diagnosis, Jeff had accepted the role of State Pastor for the Church of God in Arizona. He and Cindy will soon be returning to Phoenix, a place where they spent over 25 years serving with love and dedication. For now, Jeff is continuing his treatments from their home in Sacramento, but he remains committed to transitioning back to the valley before the end of the year. We are praying for a quick recovery so he can get back to the ministry that we have all been fortunate enough to be impacted by.

Throughout his ministry, Jeff has always reminded us that “You Matter to Me and You Matter to God.” His message has always been one of love, generosity, and faith encouraging us to believe that God can and will show up for us when we need it.

The logistics and financial burden of moving states while dealing with a new cancer diagnosis is a lot right now.
