Pastor David Mills continued-in-home care
Donation protected
My name is Jess Kollaer and I’m part of David & Rinettes extended family.
I would like to use this platform to share with as many as possible the update of our dear sweet Uncle David & Auntie Net is in need of financial assistance in order for David to receive the adequate, hands-on, in-home care that the “new him” is now requiring. Pastor David Mills; Uncle David and friend to many. It has come the time that we want to bring him home for his continued care. We need to raise generous funds that will allow Rinette to hire around the clock nursing/care for David in the comfort of his own home. David is still unaware of his severe and frail condition-our hope is that the familiar and loving surroundings of home will encourage his healing and possibly restore his memory.
This has been quite the journey these last 6 months & we continue to trust and lean on the Lord through these trying times. This unfortunate journey began back on April 24,2023. David walked into the first of many hospitals with a severe case of Shingles which lead to 12 days of agonizing pain, unanswered questions & incorrect medications being given. On day 12 David was helicoptered out of that hospital on life support. Sadly, he took a turn and was in a coma for the following 2 months. Upon arrival to UCLA, the wonderful team there was able
to get rid of the shingles within 5 days. What a blessing & answer to so many prayers. Davids's road to recovery has been nothing short of life threatening, scary & intense times. He’s currently at his 4th facility of which they've all but 1 been less pleasant. He’s endured the unimaginable throughout these last 6 months.
Davids's memory has decreased by an infinite amount which means family isn’t familiar to him. His most wonderful loving wife Rinette has been by his side every step of way & is now being given the opportunity to bring her husband home. David will truly need a nurse with him at all times to help monitor his many needs. Being bed ridden comes with its own challenges. Everyday life as they knew it has completely changed.
We are asking for your continued prayers, love and support moving forward. The financial burden that Rinette is facing is overwhelming to say the least. We are asking for anyone who feels it in their hearts to help this process be a little less stressful. The out-of-pocket costs are immense & we’d be forever grateful for your help in blessing them.
