Pastor Alexander Demianchenko Rehabilitation

Donation protected
Alexandr Demianchenko (Pastor Alexander) is a Pastor at Transformation Church in Kyiv, Ukraine. We met Pastor Alexander on a missions trip we took to Kiyv in 2019.

He runs a tremendous ministry to people with special needs in Kiyv. Before the war, Pastor Alexander and his team ministered to hundreds of people throughout the city. As with most pastors in Ukraine, Pastor Alexander worked a full-time job to provide for his family and volunteered a second full-time job as a pastor. He sacrificially gave many times for the ministry, especially during COVID when the needs of the ministry were greater than normal. They put on an annual special needs camp for people with disabilities.

In late December 2021, Pastor Alexander suffered a terrrible accident while testing a wheelchair lift for use in the ministry. He needed emergency surgery and has now had more than 8 different surgeries.

Here is a message that his wife posted on Facebook after one of his surgeries on January 9 which shows the kind of person he is:
Dear friends! Our family owes each of you an unpaid debt. You have shown and continue to show us so much mercy, compassion, love, and support that we, to be more precise, do not have time to repay you. Our events are unfolding rapidly and the Lord wants to fill in where we have fallen short. Two neighbors who were lying near Sasha (Alexander in Ukrainian), in the hospital on the Red Farm, repented and there is your merit. They saw how you visited us, the line of visitors interrupted overnight and for a short time during the day, they took care of my husband while I was in counseling, they encouraged me, sang songs, prayed, cried by the bed, brought money and did everything they could to relieve look for our suffering and help find a doctor. So I believe it was a stop from God. Now on the news: today's operation lasted 4 hours. Sasha had spinal anesthesia so he decided to calculate how many holes would be drilled in it. He says that after 40th he couldn't count any more. When you lie under anesthesia, thoughts run in your head not very neatly, so I suggested him to remember and remind himself at the hardest moment, the shortest phrase from what encourages me now: "Don't be afraid, just believe." The surgery was successful, there was no need for an extension of the bone. How is Sasha feeling? He is very strong and patient, he tries to ask for pain relief only in rare cases, but it really hurts and hard, so I try to be with him all the time to encourage, inspire to go forward and not give up. The injuries are severe and doctors say that for Sasha to go, a miracle is needed, I like their faith, they offer to hope in God. A verse for us: Do not be an unbeliever, but a believer.

After the surgeries were complete, the recovery has been very difficult for him and he has had numerous complications. Then came the war. One of Pastor Alexander's biggest concerns was for the people he and his team ministered to. Imagine that, lying in a hospital recovering from 8 surgeries and worrying about the welfare of others.

He is now in Sweden in order to do rehab. He reached out to us and let us know of a financial need he has to pay for the rehabilitation. This was his message:

Thank you dear brother Alex! Tomorrow I have a consultation with a rehabilitation specialist. I will be able to write more precisely about how much I will have to pay for the treatment. We have a debt from the hospital since the ambulance took me 2 times. The first diagnosis was pulmonary thromboembolism. It was very painful for me to breathe. And the second time, a severe allergy to drugs for blood clots began. I had to change medicines and clean the blood. But now I feel better and need to work on my legs. The family we live in goes to a house church. They have very few people and they cannot help us more. We wanted to sell our car, but this is not possible in Sweden. We can't find a job yet because we don't have registration. We have been to the immigration office, but have not yet received a response. So now we need help. Thanks for understanding. God bless you.

All funds raised will be sent directly to Pastor Alexander to pay for his hospital bills and current medical treatment. Since becoming a believer, Pastor Alexander has given sacrificially for many others. Let's do the same for him. Even if you don't know him, we would encourage you to give toward his recovery.

Sincerely,
Alexandru and Manda Mosoiu
