Here is an update about my car situation. Tomorrow, Friday, September 5th, I'm finally getting my car back with a rebuilt engine in it. Outside of a few days, the used car dealer (and the auto shop) had my car since Monday, June 30th, a total of 10 weeks. During that time I lost about $5,000 or more in income from Door Dashing and entertainment jobs. I am very grateful to have had this platform to try & raise the lost income. I have raised about 40%, or $2,000, from my Go Fund Me page & Zelle. I still hope to raise another $500 or so to help pay my bills that have accumulated during this difficult period in my life. If I'm fortunate to receive these much needed funds I will deactivate this site. Even if I don't, I will deactivate it within 2 weeks. I'm using this as a last resort. About 10 years ago I was homeless for about 6 to 8 months. I pray that you never experience it. Even after I wasn't homeless anymore, it still takes years in some cases to get truly back on your feet. I took Social Security early at age 62 to help my finances. I am single with no dependants. Currently, besides social security, I Door Dash about 30 hours or more per week. I also give private baseball lessons at times. This past spring I was the Junior Varsity Baseball Coach at a high school in Marietta, Ga. I also have a business called Classic Entertainment. I sing songs by artists such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, & Bobby Daren. I also impersonate some of those singers & other stars. I perform at farmers markets, nursing homes, restaurants, and other events. I'm currently in talks to sign with an talent & entertainment company to secure more work at higher pay rates. I was putting myself in a situation where I will finally start saving money each month and have some financial security. I bought a used car in February of this year. Last month I was having issues with the cooling system and it broke down one Sunday night on a highway exit ramp. I was on my way to deliver a Door Dash order but had to cancel it. I had the car towed to where I bought it and took a lyft ride home. It turns out that I needed a new head gasket. If you know anything about cars you know that its not a simple fix. I got the car back on Friday, August 1st I believe. That evening, around 4:30, the engine light came on. I called the dealership & told them I would monitor it over the weekend. About an hour later, the light went off. It remained off until Sunday evening while I was on a Door Dash delivery. The car started losing power on a hill so I pulled the car over and turned it off. Both the engine and power tran lights came on. 5 minutes later I started it up & I had full power. However, both warning lights remained on. I put on my hazard lights & drove home. I didn't drive it the next day & couldn't get it to the dealership on Monday. I dropped it off Tuesday morning around 10:00 AM & both lights were still on. I was told it needed a new TC intake & they had to order it. After they installed it, there were problems with the part aligning with the cars computer. That was last week. Luckily, because I just bought the car in February, I'm still under the 12 months or 12,000 mile warranty. I just owe a $75 deductable when I finally pick it up. Since then I've had very little conversation as to when my car would be ready. Hence, the reason why I'm on this page. Judging from the last voice mail I received, I think it will be ready by tomorrow or this Friday. Outside of a couple of days,I haven't been able to Door Dash in over a month. I had to cancel 3 singing events that would have paid me over $300. The dealership has not offered me a loaner car. I've lost approximately $2,500 in income between Door Dashing & performing. I'm still in the dark as to when my car will be ready. I'm asking for help in catching up on the bills that I have. Currently, I have over $1,000 worth of loans & bills that I need to pay by the end of this month. That's not counting my next car payment or my rent, both due by August 1st. I'm not looking to replace the $2,500 in lost income. I just am looking for about $1,250 to cover past bills. If 60 or more people can find it in their heart to give an average of $20 each, I will reach that goal. Should I pass that amount, I would donate the extra income to research for Alzheimer's, to honor my sister Bonnie. Unfortunately, she has had this horrible disease for over 5 years now.
