Save The American Passion Play

The 2020 season of The American Passion Play will mark the 97th consecutive season and moves us one year closer to a milestone of 100 years .  Conceived by Delmar D. Darrah, a faculty member of Illinois Wesleyan University, this historic production began in 1924 and is  one of the oldest continuously performed Passion Play in the United States.  It represents an important ministry in its own right, dramatizing Jesus' teachings on faith, love, justice and righteousness.  But the play's significance does not end there.  Drawing audiences from throughout the Midwest, it connects all who participate to the traditions of Passion Plays dating back many centuries. 

The American Passion Play has faced significant challenges throughout its history.  Changing demographics and economic conditions have contributed to the financial distress of The American Passion Play.  We need your help to continue this historic production to achieve our next milestone and on into the future.  Please give generously to support our important effort to spread the word of Jesus’ teaching to thousands of people every year.
