Welcome to A Ghost in the Studio Productions!
My name is Scott McCafferty and I'm a mental health professional by day and a paranormal investigator by night. Over the past 11 years I have been learning to take the skill set of helping others and apply it towards my ongoing investigations into the paranormal. With the help of my friends Rex and Andrew, we are on a mission to contact the echoes of history and potentially solve the mysteries they left behind.
This is my passion project.
We are self-taught, aspiring documentary film makers. After 11 years of working in the service of others I have decided it's time to put that same focus into chasing my dreams. My whole life I have wanted to create films and pursue what goes bump in the night. Whether it be with a proton pack (c'mon science I've been waiting for over 30 years now) or a flashlight and camera I have and will continue to charge into the dark spaces in search of adventure knowing all too well that if life were a horror movie I'd be dead in seconds.

How will funds be used?
Our first and main priority with this Gofundme is to pay for a year's worth of locations to investigate. We've selected 12 locations (or a once a month average) and came up with a budget of what it would cost to rent them for one night (which for most places is really 6-8 hours). The goal set on this page would only cover these rental fees.
Should we exceed this goal here is our wish list of what we would do with the additional funds:
- Add a second and third professional night vision camera. Currently we only have the one.
- Add a second and third professional microphone to go with above cameras.
- Replace our lavalier mics for our transmitters. Our current ones have a terrible hiss to them.
- Replace the cameras we use as static cameras. We are using sony handheld camcorders that are over 25 years old. Finding replacement batteries is getting harder and harder. We would like to replace them with something more modern to improve the video quality and maintenance.
- Pay for a year's subscription to Adobe products for video editing. Currently we are using an outdated sony vegas program.
- Acquire new gear to aid in our research. (I have a list made which I can share if anyone wants to see it)
- Cover travel expenses. Most of the locations we've selected are within 4 hours or less of where we live to try and cut down on expenses. With additional funds we would be able to push out further to new locations.
- Rent a large location (like a prison or hospital) and host an event where all donators could come to investigate with us free of charge. We have a few places picked out, but we'd be open to suggestions for others.
- Develop merchandise. We've already done a small run of rubber bracelets, business cards, and t-shirts, but with additional funds we would expand to make more of each with the addition of hats and hoodies.
- Batteries. Lots and lots of batteries. You'd be amazed at how costly this gets even when using rechargeables.
