"Passing Through" Finishing Costs

Hello, I'm Sarah, and I have spent the past 5 years working on a documentary film that is very meaningful to me. It was a self-financed passion project, and I have spent over a thousand hours filming and editing and revising.

However, this movie will not at all be possible without the post-production team, and that is what this fundraiser is for. I am raising funds for finishing costs so that I can get this film into festivals and share the beautiful message of "Passing Through".

Finishing costs include online editing, colorist, sound design, original score, song licensing, titles, closed captioning, and festival submissions.

About "Passing Through":

My goal with this picture was to document how art was effected by its environment, and how art could be forged to make change. Bombay Beach was the perfect setting for this, as it was a deserted and forgotten resort town that had been revived by artists, bringing awareness to the ecological disaster that is happening with the Salton Sea. However, over my years there, I dug deeper and fell in love with the community of Bombay Beach. Everybody there has a complex backstory, and I'm honored that they trusted me with it. This town is one of the most inspiring places you will ever go, and a microcosm of what is possible in the world. But Bombay Beach is no stranger to tragedy. The environment is harsh and unforgiving, and some of our artists found existences too difficult to bare. It is unbelievable what you will find in this tiny, 6 block town, in the middle of nowhere. I can't wait to share it with you.
