Cheri Ann Deichler has passed away after suffering a massive cerebral hemorrhage and stroke while working in New Mexico. Cheri had flown to New Mexico on Aug 24 and complained of a severe headache. Soon after, she was found unconscious. Transported to a hospital, she was then flown to a larger hospital in El Paso Texas for neurological care. Surgery was performed but doctors were unable to stop the bleeding and 6 total brain aneurysms were discovered. Her health declined and she remained unresponsive. She passed away on the morning of August 28, 2020, one day before her 59th birthday.
Cheri's daughters, Victoria Strasen, Sarah Buckley and Kaitlynn DeLozier were by her side at the hospital. Her son, Michael Deichler was unable to travel due to recent surgery.
Cheri, a breast cancer survivor, currently had no medical insurance and no life insurance. Many friends will know Cheri as a loving nurse who maintained contact with her patients for years after professionally meeting her. This GoFundMe page is to help her children with the costs of cremation and funeral expenses as well as personal travel expenses incurred by the children throughout this tragedy.
Many of you will recall Cheri as the devoted Lakeside Queen Mom for several years. Victoria, Sarah and Kaitlynn wore the Teen Miss Lakeside, Miss Lakeside and Lakeside Princess crowns and devoted hundreds, if not thousands, of volunteer hours to our community. As the Director of that program, I was lucky to have spent countless hours with her and her family and honored to call her my friend.
Memorial Services will be held after Cheri's remains are returned from Texas and when the Covid limitations allow.
Please consider any amount of donation to help her daughters with the costs they have incurred and will incur for some time to come. If you would prefer to donate through Paypal, please email for that information.
