Passing of a Friend

Last week, we lost a dear member of the Devices family, a friend, a colleague and a great engineer, Alex Perez, after a year of battling cancer. This year would’ve been Alex’s 10th year at Microsoft, contributing to many of the products that have solidified Microsoft’s place in the manufacturing space.

 

Outside of work, Alex was a great friend, a kind and loving person who always cared about people, showing empathy and love. He was known for his friendliness and never hesitated to let people know that he cared about them. Alex cherished making memories with everyone he met, etching a special place in many hearts with his warmth and infectious smile.

 

Alex leaves behind family members that are still in the Philippines and going through challenging times; the team is collecting donations and is thankful for any support you may be able to provide. We also encourage everyone to keep their family in their thoughts and prayers.

 

With all the emotional pain and stress that death brings, it also brings financial burdens. We are trying to raise money for Alex’s family to help with any costs incurred and help wherever needed. As a community, we want to ease any stress on the family caused by this tremendous loss.
