Back in 2009, we moved into Meadows Farm and began to make this vision a reality. Starting with our first rescued racehorse, Lotus, our animals project has grown to be a home for up to 70 animals at one time including pigs, sheep, horses, cows and dogs, all of whom were abandoned or destined for slaughter.
Our charitable services are for people and animals, especially society's most vulnerable - abused animals, the homeless, refugees, asylum seekers, children, young people, prisoners, those with addictions and children in foster care.
We are centered on using our amazing facility Pashupati Ashram as our contribution to the amazing community in the hills of Rossendale.
The #BigBarnAppeal project is not just about rehousing the animals in the cold winter; it is about making room to grow the work with our people projects too. It is about helping young people to flourish in our environment projects, and meeting the brightest and best of our community to support them in achieving all they can.
But it all starts with the barn, and meeting the needs of our animal beneficiaries and that's why this GoFundMe exists.
We want to meet the needs of all of our beneficiaries.
We would love you to partner with us in a number of ways:
1. Donate here to our GoFundMe appeal if you can?
2. Speak to your bosses, local businesses, animal enthusiasts, local councillors and let them know this is happening.
3. Share our posts with anyone who you think might be interested in working with us or supporting the projects.
4. Find creative ways to help us raise funds - bake cakes, do sponsored swims, even get all your spare change from the back of your sofas!
More than anything, we want this to be an opportunity for everyone to think outside of themselves and make a real difference for all those that we have the privilege of serving.
Do get in touch on firstname.lastname@example.org if you want to know more.
