Paseo Farmers Market & Food Cooperative
Donation protected
The Paseo Farmers Market is growing! Building on the success of the online market, we are working to establish the Paseo Food Cooperative, a worker-owned grocery store, cafe & deli, open year-round that will partner with and host the online farmers market and outdoor seasonal farmers market in the Paseo Arts District. We invite you to join us to make a difference in our community and our local food movement.

We are launching this working GoFundMe campaign to take our food cooperative to the next level of providing more services for and with the community. We are not “just” asking donors for money. Nor are we “just” building infrastructure and acquiring a building. We are going to serve more people and have more to offer to our vendors and the community once this big project is complete.

This fundraiser will expand and adapt to the changing circumstances, but in the immediate future, it will help us to transform the space next door to The Mayan into the online market’s new aggregation space and pre-order pick up location, a retail food cooperative with all your grocery staples and favorites that are not locally grown or produced alongside all your favorite local products, made-to-order coffee drinks and ready-to-eat foods.

Our goal is to include our community and supporters in every step of this process, we’re building this together! Here is where your generous donations will be applied, and how we’ll bring this vision to fruition:
Goal: $40,000
New platform & POS System : $4,000
Signage, Awnings, Paint & Supplies, New Ceiling, Lights, $7,000
Plumbing, Counters & Furnishings, Freezers, $16,000
Rent, Utilities, Composting & Recycling (Community Use) $2,000
Coffee Bar, Dishware, Crates & Misc. Supplies $9,000
Licensing $2,000
Estimates are based on real quotes received and researched, and are rounded up to adjust for the inevitable unforeseen additional costs.
Community Investors that would like to contribute a larger monetary gift, email us for more information about our future goals, or to see how large donations can be made tax deductible.

We will be transitioning the purpose of our Patreon, previously a fund for bags and supplies, to help subsidize our monthly rent & utilities while we start and grow this business. A few dollars a month from a considerable number of our community members that are able can go a long way.
You can follow this link to sign up .
Our goal is to build this business without an enormous amount of debt, and without any restrictive adjustments to the structure of our business that will result in compromising our foundational ethics. We want to build this with the community, we want it to put the benefit of our community, our vendors, our worker-owners, future employees, and dedicated patrons above profit, always. We want it to still be here still serving that purpose long after we’re gone. Thank you for your support and consideration, as always. For the community, by the community!
