Pasadena4VanHalen

When Pasadena’s own hometown Rock Star, Eddie Van Halen, passed away in October of 2020, we all felt our city mourn together, people are still sharing stories of their history with the band and band members, and we saw so many tributes near where Eddie and Alex grew up on Las Lunas Street grow daily.  As the city that saw Eddie grow into the person and star he became, our community pride needs a place to shine… and a permanent way to honor our hometown legend.

We have heard from Van Halen Fans from around the world and have received donations from people who live here in Pasadena, people who live across the USA, and even from people in countries around the globe. Your donations have helped us to place a large plaque at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, and we are now working to see that Pasadena's newest park is named after Eddie Van Halen.

Please support our campaign for a public park for Eddie and his bandmates, by emailing the Pasadena City Council by emailing City Clerk Mark Jomsky: [email redacted] and letting them know that you support this effort. It’s our understanding that this request may go before the Pasadena City Council on January 24th, so please send your email soon!

We envision a beautiful park, perhaps with a wonderful statue of Edward Van Halen near the entrance. It will be a place where Van Halen Fans can gather and a place where generations to come can visit, celebrate, and learn more about Ed Van Halen, the greatest guitar player who ever lived!

We hope that one day we can all gather together in a place where we can honor the genius of Eddie Van Halen and the outstanding accomplishments of his band. Van Halen Fans are AWESOME and together we can make this happen!

Please spread the word and visit and “Like” our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/pasadena4vanhalen) and visit our Instagram and Twitter @pasadena4vanhalen to stay updated on our progress.  Thank you for helping Pasadena to honor the one and only Eddie Van Halen and his remarkable band!
