UPDATE: September 2, 2020
A comprehensive list of the victims has been prepared and a volunteer on the ground is going to verify those in the list in the next couple of days through an in-person visit to Parwan.
In the meantime, I have requested funds withdrawal. Once funds become available, I will have it sent via Western Union to Kabul to the volunteers teams who will divide it in equal portions for the identified families for distribution.
Upon distribution, a comprehensive sheet with names, family information, loss as a result of the flood, a contact information for each recipient and the amount received will be posted along with pictures in the fundraiser for confirmation.

Last night's floods in Parwan and the damage it has left in Charikar is a heartbreaking tragedy! Pictures and videos shared on social media is only a glimpse of the carnage that has made the city unrecognizable.
According to government sources and volunteers latest *estimated* figures are:
- 120 people killed (mostly women and children)
- 250+ injured
- 300+ missing
- 500+ homes destroyed (at least!)
- 4500+ people in need of shelter
The casualty and damage is expected to increase.
Many families - farmers, daily laborers - are still searching their loved ones and have completely lost their homes, livestocks and and all belongings.
My extended family members and friends are helping the victims who are in DIRE need of medications, basic food, water and shelter.
In this great hour of need, please chip in as much/little as you can and help the victims who are inches in between life and death.
My pledge is that every single penny collected, will reach to the most needy ones with the utmost transparency and care.
