Partnering with Emily for Seminary
Donation protected
Hi! Joelinda and Kyle, here. If you don't know us: We are a teacher and a theologian-in-training, respectively. We have been in formal ministry off and on for several years, and met each other (and subsequently married) in seminary in Boston. We are passionate about God's reign in the world. We are here to ask you to to consider partnering with our dear friend Emily as she pursues her call to ministry!
A rock-star, single-mother, Emily decided to start pursuing an M.A. in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary online last year with the goal of teaching at a college, working as a spiritual director, and/or planting the next generation of churches. Emily is tenacious and audacious. We have personally been blessed by her passion for nurturing marginalized souls within the Church and her passion for the Church's responsibility to pursue justice.
We are constantly floored by how hard she works. Emily is raising her amazing daughter, serving in ministry, studying hard, and working to fund her degree. She is tireless, fearless, and always persisting despite many challenges and roadblocks. We don't want finances to be another hurdle as she follows God's calling on her life.
Joelinda and I both benefited from ministry partners who funded our seminary educations. The generosity and encouragement of others was essential. As a part-time online student, however, Emily's options for funding her education are limited.
They don't have to be.
We believe in the power of a huge crowd of prayer and financial witnesses to power. her. through.
This past July (2018) we launched this campaign for Emily's birthday and nearly funded her Fall semester, thanks to the generosity of friends, mutual friends, and strangers. What an amazing outpouring of support it was. Many of you have kept up with Emily on facebook or otherwise as she has told of the blessing this has been, and the fruitful study and growing she's been able to do as a result.
We still have an ambitious goal: To fund the rest of her academic year (about 4 more courses), so she won't have to take any loans. In July we nearly made it halfway there. But we still have some ways to go to the school year total of $10,000. We'd love for you to help out any way you can. Give for the first time, or for a second or third time, lift her up in prayer, and you can also follow her on Facebook where you can see fundraising updates and stay in touch with Emily!
You can be a part of the life she brings to the world around her, and the impactful future we know she will have.
We believe so strongly in the honest way that Emily lives her life. She will change the world. We want to partner with her to that end and we think that you ought to consider partnering with her, also.
We are looking for people, whether you know Emily already or not, to come alongside her as partners. Funding an education may seem like a huge mountain to climb, but truly nothing is more powerful than hundreds or thousands of people committed to playing a part, big or small, to partner with someone following God's call and wanting to change the world.
Sincerely,
Joelinda & Kyle
