Under normal circumstances, the Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB) program helps families stretch their SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) dollars by matching purchases of fresh fruits and vegetables dollar-for-dollar, up to $15 per day.
But today, we’re facing an urgent challenge.
Due to disruptions in SNAP benefit availability, over 7,000 Iowa families that rely on DUFB don’t have SNAP dollars to spend, meaning they can’t access the matching funds that help them afford fresh fruits and vegetables. Without their monthly benefits, these Iowans won’t have enough food to eat for the foreseeable future.
That’s why we’ve launched an Emergency DUFB Fund, a temporary solution that allows us to provide direct DUFB dollars to individuals in need, without requiring a SNAP purchase. Our goal is to provide $25 to every family that relies on DUFB, that can only be spent on fruits and vegetables.
Your donation today will go directly toward:
● Providing emergency DUFB to individuals without SNAP funds
● Ensuring access to fresh, local fruits and vegetables
● Supporting families during a time of heightened need and uncertainty
This is a critical moment. With your help, we can make sure no one has to choose between skipping meals and skipping nutrition.
Donate now to support the Emergency DUFB Fund and help keep healthy food on the table for families across Iowa when they most need it.
