In some villages in the Arctic Circle of Alaska, families are facing harsh living conditions, extreme cold, isolation, and deep personal struggles. Many homes are broken, and substance abuse is a real and ongoing challenge. In the middle of this, our missionary team is here to serve, encourage, and share hope.
We are currently serving in villages like Kotzebue, Kobuk, and Shungnak, and will be here for the next couple of months continuing this work. Our goal is to share the gospel, encourage believers, and invest in the lives of kids, teenagers, and families in these communities.
A large part of our ministry is working with young people. We host Vacation Bible School, spend time with kids and teens, and make them feel cared for. We also lead Bible studies with believers and elders, helping strengthen and encourage those who are already part of the church.
We do home visits, spending time with families, listening, praying, and building relationships. Alongside that, we serve in practical ways—helping elders and families with daily needs like chopping wood, hauling water, fixing furnaces, and anything else that’s needed. These acts of service are an important part of what we do
One of the biggest challenges here is the cost of living. Basic items are extremely expensive—a bag of chips can cost $10–$12, and gas can be around $14 per gallon. Funds go toward children’s ministry supplies, snacks and meals for fellowship, donations to the church for heating, and fuel for transportation.
We rely on a snow machine to travel between areas—whether it’s going to Kobuk for Vacation Bible School, helping with daily needs, or spending time with kids in a positive setting.
This fundraiser is simply an invitation. If it’s on your heart to be a part of this mission trip, your support will help us continue this work over the next couple of months. If not, your prayers are deeply appreciated and truly meaningful.
Thank you for taking the time to read and for supporting in any way you can
