Partner With Me: Guatemala Mission Trip 2025

Hi!! If you don’t know me, I’m Kendall! I’m 18, studying Preaching and Church Leadership at Johnson University in Knoxville, Tennessee! I have absolutely loved it and I’ve learned so many new things! One thing that I’ve learned is that I have a huge, huge heart for outreach. A class that I took first semester, Encountering Cultures, is all about different cultures, people groups, and outreach! Matthew 28:18-20 is basically the thesis statement for the class.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

If you didn’t know already, roughly 40% of the people on Earth have no access to the Gospel, which is insane. I don’t know about you, but that just makes me so emotional and heartbroken. My life has been forever changed for the good since hearing the Gospel and giving my life to Christ. The fact that some people don’t even have the access to experience that kind of life change is terrifying. I desire nothing more than to say yes. I will say yes to this command that God gives all of us to make disciples. Yes, I will make disciples at my school, in my community, and in other nations.

This summer, I get the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Guatemala with Food for the Hungry. In Guatemala, 2.7 million people face food insecurity, 50% of children under 5 years old experience stunted growth, and 36% of the population lacks access to safe sanitation. I get to go alongside people of Traders Point! The primary goal of this trip is to strengthen the growing relationship between Moxenja and Traders Point. We will also have the opportunity to serve alongside FH staff on various projects, including running a vacation Bible school (VBS), installing smokeless stoves, participating in community events, and more.

I’m so excited to learn about their culture, lives, and faith. I know God is going to do incredible things through this trip and beyond. I would be so grateful for anyone who considers donating and would love to talk more about it one on one with anyone!!
